Board Development Series: The "F" Word: Fundraising!
Thursday, August 10, 2017 10:00 am
In-person | Washington, DC
This event is no longer available.
Presented by The Foundation Center and Jovid Foundation
A top complaint of Executive Directors is that their boards don’t fundraise enough (or at all!). Many board members want to help secure resources for the organization. However, many individuals join a board lacking fundraising skills or experience. Establishing a board culture of philanthropy takes intention, time, and training.
This session will discuss:
- Importance of mission connection to fundraising
- How recruitment aides board fundraising development
- Strategies to make all board members organizational ambassadors
- How to use the budget as a basic fundraising blueprint
- Identifying fundraising roles for each board member
- Board member personal giving
- Ways to provide fundraising training.
Participants will receive a sample board commitment form and an individual member fundraising template.
