Naturally, a nonprofit needs a strong corporate governance structure to meet legal and ethical standards and avoid scandals.  In addition, strong governance can help a nonprofit grow, increase fundraising and attract directors.  In order to build a strong governance structure, nonprofit leaders must understand the basics of corporate governance and then tailor a structure to fit the needs of the particular nonprofit.

During this presentation, our speaker will help nonprofits understand:

• The basics of corporate governance, including the interplay of state nonprofit corporation law, articles of incorporation, bylaws, charters and policies and procedures

• Best practices for maximizing organizational effectiveness

• How to design a custom corporate governance structure
