Thinking About a Career in the Arts?
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that rising incomes, more leisure time, and growing awareness of the health benefits of physical fitness will increase the demand for arts, entertainment, and recreation services, which include practically any activity that occupies a person’s leisure time: museums, live performances, video game centers, parks, and so on.

Put to rest any concerns about having to become a "starving artist" if you want to follow your artistic passions, whether or not you create your masterpieces with paints, pixels, traditional instruments, or MIDIs. Even those of us who have a hard time drawing stick people can enjoy a career in the arts.

The University of Texas Career Services has 10 pages of jobs (with descriptions) that you can get with an art degree. On that note, visit your local college or university's art department and ask them about careers in art. More often than not, they can connect you with people working in the specialty that interests you.
